The Days of the Week, v.1

Letter Uu Week (backposted)

~Lena is 36 months & Lucy is 18 months~

I promise, all of my "The Days of the Week" post will not look like this one, but from the look of my photo stock...we had a productive and fun week.  This was the end of March/beginning of April...this was also shortly after the time I revamped out school time routine and started finding more engaging resources on the web.  Couple the new finds with a ton of indoor winter time that was growing more stale by the minute and I guess we had two little girls that were into the new school time activities!

Playroom Favorites - these are store bought educational toys that I use for my go-to playroom activities when I want to play with the girls but do something interesting & educational.  To be honest, these type of toys hold my interest more than many of the others so I tend to steer the girls toward these!

Puzzle Time!  An oldie but goodie, Lena loves this color/texture match puzzle and Lucy is just beginning to identify her colors too so it's a nice "game" to do together!

Lucy working on a tower...we use this a lot to id shapes right now.

This is our school calendar, we try our best to get to every weekday but Lena has not been very interested in it lately.  When we have calendar time, we do some sort of song, rap, dance about the days of the week, we do the day and the weather.

Playdough Mats - I still have to make the playdough snakes but Lena likes putting them on the mat.

 Lena's completed letter "Uu" sheet

Tot Trays - we did a lot of tot trays this week - both girls love this one!

Lena calls this tray set up, "the bug tray"  - it has other items but she loves the ladybugs.  We do a lot of pattern work with this tray.

 Math - patterns galore!

Case Matching - another one of Lean's favorites.  She is pretty good at identifying the lowercase letter but she still needs help getting the clip on since she uses two hands to open the clip.  I help by holding the card in the air so she can attach the clip.

Letter Puzzle - Most mornings, I try to leave something at her breakfast spot.  It helps my husband because he is usually downstairs with Lena by himself (he's awesome)...while I am draggin myself out of bed.  It also gives Lena something else to do other than watching a show.

Princess Math - this was new this week and she loved this!

We got our Do-A-Dot markers from Amazon this week.  I finally bit the bullet and bought them even though I cringed at the price tag and added/deleted them from my cart 15 times the week before.  Lucy and Lena love them...this is our first set so I am hoping they have a good life in them!

This was a favorite for both Lena and I, but it took all week to compete it since there were a few parts.  We read Jan Brett's, The Umbrella several times this week, Lena took a lot of time (days) to color the animals and I cut them out.  We completed our letter of week craft and then went through the book to put the animals in the right order on our paper strip (she liked this part and I thought it was a good impromptu matching/sequencing skill).

Do-A-Dot Number Flashcards...Great Activity but I had to really stay on top of her quick dabs as we got past five!

A snap of how I display the girls' work...

Science Experiment...Growing Grass!  Both girls loved this but Lena thought the grass would sprout immediately (chuckle:)

One last Do-A-Dot craft...I admit, they came in handy!
