Lucy's first school experience was this summer at the Olivet Methodist Church VBS program in mid July. She reveled in it and was a star in the closing program....her smile evidence of Jesus' light! Lena had a blast too - she attended another VBS prorgam in August at West Park Methodist.
We spent many days by the pool and Lena learned to swim all on her on early in the summer, she has been our little mermaid ever since!
We spent a few Saturday mornings enjoying the porch and breakfast at New Dodges Market - a family favorite!
We had silly fun!
Sisters in the sun....loving some sand table time on a humid morning.
Love, love, love each other and their relationship continues to grow each week....it is not without its tiffs and not a day passes that I don't done the black and white stripes of refereeing but as they get older, their ability to play happily and build their sisterly bond swells.
Dress up with friends....it really doesn't get any better than this in the life of a little girl!
"Sewing" with mommy - the girls snips and glue and colored fabric
scraps for nearly two hours while I worked on their princess dresses for
our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!
Girlfriends....
Summer Dinners! This one is all for Mommy....mangia!
Summer sports - a common occurence from swimming and walking the dogs to tee ball in the front yard and croquet at parties. A favorite memory: "And so it begins... playing T-ball with the
girls and Lucy's up to bat... her first few swings were dribblers, so
Lena says "I'm going to move up " Next swing....Lucy hits her with a
line drive in the shoulder!"
Lobster bakes with friends!

The end of Mommy led lessons....I am so proud of both Lena and Lucianna - they still ask for school time and crafts - it has been a thread in the fabric of our lives for the last two years. Our family will continue to grow, school will begin and life will go on - I pray we all find happiness in our new routines and roles...I will still be a teacher and Lena and Lucianna still the students - but we will all be in a different class!
Even Daddy...I am proud of him too and officially wish him GOOD LUCK as he embarks on his first semester of doctoral classes to earn his PhD in Criminal Justice. Yes, we are all busily undertaking new adventures.
