The Days of the Week, v.7

Letter Hh Week (backposted)

~ Lena is 3 years & 3 months, Lucianna is 21 months ~

 

 We had a good week of school time, but I failed to capture a ton of action shots this week.

 We are working on colors a lot; Lena of course knows her colors but still has fun with them and Lucy is just starting to identify them but with varying consistency.  This Color Matching Puzzle from 1+1+1=1 is "terrific" as Lena would say.  It not only encourages color recognition but has a ton of vocabulary skills built in, too.  I loved having the girls work together on this -both Lena & Lucianna had fun naming the objects on the color cards.  Lucy & I worked on color names and Lena constructed the puzzles.

  

Lucy eventually wondered away while Lena and I put the puzzles together but she ended up coming back.  Right now, I am not doing anything super structured with her so she has freedom to come and go and she pleases.  But, I do expect Lena to listen and follow instructions during school time - this is sometimes an internal struggle for me because I want it to be fun for her and without power struggles to have her complete"work" she is not enjoying but their is a fine line I stumble over to have her participate within some guidelines of our school time routine and her desire to do school time.  I have to remind myself, this may not be working now, but it might work later!  (or not at all:)

Again, another color focused activity.  We have these color boxes that the girls love to play with any which way.  I like to have them sort by color or item.
